  4. Password cannot contain either name or part of the email address
    and must be a minimum of eight characters
    with at least one from 3 of these 4 sets:
    capital letters,
    small letters,
    digits 0-9 or
    special characters on a standard keyboard.

    The Marion County Clerk of Court's office ("Clerk's Office") provides the Property Alert Service to the public as a way for property owners or other interested parties to receive alert messages by email when a transaction that affects a specific property is recorded by the Clerk's Office. The service works by matching Parcel IDs in legal descriptions or party names on recorded documents with requests made by subscribers to the Property Alert Service.

    PLEASE NOTE, THE PROPERTY ALERT SERVICE DOES NOT PREVENT FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY. IT WILL ALERT THE SUBSCRIBER TO LOOK INTO THE MATTER FURTHER AND ASSIST IN MONITORING UNAUTHORIZED ACTIVITY ON SPECIFIC PROPERTY. LAW ENFORCEMENT MUST BE CONTACTED TO REPORT ANY SUSPECTED FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY AND, IF YOU BELIEVE IT TO BE WARRANTED, CONSIDER APPROPRIATE LEGAL ACTION.

    The Clerk's Office works to ensure the accurate recording of all official documents, including legal description Parcel IDs and party names as long as the documents meet the recording requirements. However, the Clerk's Office makes no warranty or guarantee as to the accuracy of these records or the information entered into the public record search portal from these records. The Clerk's Office assists subscribers in using the Property Alert Service, but the subscriber is ultimately responsible for providing and maintaining valid email addresses and entering correct Parcel ID or party name information.

    The Clerk's Office shall not be liable for errors in recording documents, in messages from this alert service or for any damages in connection with the use of the information provided by the service, and any user of the Property Alert Service agrees to hold the Clerk's Office harmless from and against any claims regarding or relating to any damages sustained by using the Property Alert Service.
